Trail running Reservoir Hill is a great practice route for your 2024 Pagosa Springs Marathon as it starts just across from the street from our Pagosa Springs hotel and allows for a really heart-pumping workout. More calm runs include Turkey Springs, Coyote Hill, and Cloman Park which each allow you to choose your end mileage with spectacular views.

Upcoming 2024 Colorado Marathons in Pagosa Springs


Cloman Kicker - May 2024 Kicking off the season with an exhilarating race is the Cloman Kicker on May 22, a 5k that traverses through Cloman Park. The Cloman Kicker features a thrilling 5k trail race within Cloman Park, utilizing the single-track trails on the park's western side before weaving through the disc golf course located in the eastern section. Participants can look forward to a handful of enjoyable ascents coupled with a easy descents, offering a comprehensive exploration of Cloman Park's diverse terrain. For younger enthusiasts or those seeking a lighter challenge, a 2k trail race is available, covering the initial segment of the 5k course. This shorter race is designed as a fun run, particularly aimed at engaging youth in the joy of outdoor activity.


Fox on the Run – June 2024 Presented by Wolf Song Running Adventures. This 10-mile racecourse follows the 5-mile race course but adds an out and back loop on the Turkey Springs Trail, Newt Jack Road, and the Park Avenue trail. You'll enjoy a few tasty climbs and some fun downhill descents with amazing views of Pagosa Peak.


Turkey Springs Showdown – July 2024 The Turkey Springs Showdown offers both a 10k and a Half Marathon trail race, beginning and concluding at the Turkey Springs Guard Station (FS Road 629.B). Participants will traverse the scenic single-track paths of the Gopher Trail, Aspen Run Trail, Newt Jack Trail, Catamount Trail, and Park Avenue Trail. Each course is highly navigable, featuring gentle rolling terrain that makes them ideal for runners looking to achieve personal bests!


ColorFest Color Run/Walk 5K - September 23 This race is a 5k starts in downtown and all funds support the Fundraiser for The Aspen House. Registration can be found as the race comes closer. Whether you choose to run, walk, or navigate the course with a baby stroller, the 5K route is accessible for everyone. As a fun-run, there's no pressure with timing. Along the course, participants will encounter multiple color stations where our dedicated volunteers will add splashes of color to your white T-shirt, making the experience vibrant and memorable. The route is exceptionally welcoming, offering scenic views and a mostly flat terrain, ensuring that people of all abilities can enjoy the day.


Mountain Chile Cha Cha @ Town Park - September 2024 As the leaves begin to change and the air becomes crisp, the Mountain Chile Cha Cha at Town Park celebrates the Southwest green chili harvest. The event starts off with a 5k and 10k trail run along jeep and ATV trails with stunning views of the San Juan Mountains and provides a perfect opportunity to experience the magic of autumn in the Rockies.
