THE RIVERWALK

Walk to the Hot Springs!

Because the hot springs are less than a mile away from our Inn, a great way to get there is to take the beautiful stroll along the San Juan river. The paved trail follows the river from our hotel into downtown Pagosa Springs, it's a short 10 to 15-minute walk to get to all three of the hot spring locations, and a lovely way to get there!

HOW ARE HOT SPRINGS BENEFICIAL TO US?

Musculoskeletal problems:
Advantageous for swollen joints, arthritis, muscle fatigue, ligament damage, and many more.

Nasal Congestion:
The hotness of the water mixed with sulphur makes for a winning blend to combat nasal congestion, common cold, allergies, or even chest congestion.

Circulation:
The sodium bicarbonate and calcium found in mineral hot springs help with the natural circulation of the body which can lower blood pressure.

Relaxation:
It is certainly almost impossible to be stressed while being submerged in a natural Hot Spring and having a stressed state of mind is proven for high blood pressure, depression, and most importantly the release of cortisol. Once Cortisol is released in stress-induced doses, there are sudden changes to our mood, our immune system, and our metabolism; So don't stress :)

Magnesium:
Assists with a clear complexion (healthy looking skin)

Potassium:
Eradicates toxins and promotes healthy skin

Sodium:
Reduces inflammation in swollen joints

Sulfur:
Aids with respiratory problems and skin inflammations

WHAT ARE HOT SPRINGS?

A Hot Spring is a natural body of water that is heated geothermally. Hot Springs are all over the world in Honduras, Canada, Chile, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, Romania, Fiji and the United States, and many other countries!

Even though Hot Springs are scattered all over our beautiful planet the hot springs here at Pagosa Springs, CO are the most unique of them all because we have the world's “Deepest Geothermal Hot Spring," which was named by Guinness Book of World Records in 2011, which had a maximum measured depth of 1,002 feet!!!
